Cool project by Shi Yuan, where the simple wallpaper reacts on heat and temperature change. The wallpaper below has flowers blooming when the radiator is on. Her homepage, after the click.

    if durring the summer you have the air condisherner turn on, then the flowers will go away, though. maybe it would be better if they changed color.
