The idea to create this amazing candle came to Christoph Van Bommel and its structure was inspired from the molecular structure of cholesterol.
It is specially designed for long romantic dinners, as the light can last up to 5 hours.
There are a few phases the candle undergoes: first a main flame is lit and afterwards two, three or even five flames may burn in the same time, depending on the path the fire follows within the candle.
The Bravit candle is available with different patterns and in 4 different sizes. You can order this product here.

Nice, but expensive.
holy ass.
i want it.
Wow! very cool
Really cool, and not too difficult to make. Even spell out someone’s name…hum…
nice to see time burn away.
A brilliant idea that will be reproduced soon,
and may be with more useafull applications.
Very cool, but ludicrously expensive. If it catches on at all (and I suspect it will), automated machines will soon be making them for less then twenty cents in materials and they’ll be sold at Wal-Mart for $10 - netting a huge profit to the distributors and still being affordable to the masses. But almost a hundred bucks in it’s current form is just insane.
Ooh cholesterol, how romantic!
Candles are stupid. The Simpsons are brilliant!
You can buy thin sheet of beeswax and candle wick string at many candle supply houses…or even order it by mail from some suppliers whose names I won’t post here but are available on the internet. You can put one put one or more sheets down first (depending on thickness) then lay out your wick in whatever design you want and then add one or more layers on top then roll them together with a pastry roller…you might have to heat the wax gently with a hair dryer to get it to stick together…or maybe not depending on what kind of sheets you get.
